Marco Anzures was born and raised in San Diego, California. He attended St. Augustine High School where he started running as a freshman. By his senior year, he had earned two all-state honors and run under 15:00 minutes for 3-miles. He started his UCLA running career as a walk-on athlete, and by the end of his senior year, qualified individually for nationals and ran the fifth fastest time in UCLA history for 10,000m (29:00). Marco now trains professionally and coaches. He has his goals set toward the 2016 Olympic games.
Marco believes that everyone has the potential to excel in running. Following the examples of Arthur Lydiard and Jack Daniels, Marco has developed his own training model focusing on the 3 P’s—patience, positivity, and perseverance.
